The Requirements

To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will have:
  • A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Quick question for you - click here
  • An insurable, valid driver's license.
To be a good fit for the Facilities Electrician opportunity, you will have a rounded skill set: 
  • A minimum of 5 (five) years of relevant experience in office and industrial electrical maintenance. General office, industrial, and HVAC experience desired.
  • Additional education and/or training such as trade school, community college, or technical school is highly desired.  
  • NC or SC electrical license highly preferred. If the successful candidate is not licensed, he/she must obtain license within one year.
  • A self-directed and proactive approach. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Computer proficiency including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc.
You must be able to work a 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday day shift. Although you will only be called in during emergencies, you will have 24X7 on-call responsibilities.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Facilities Supervisor, as the Facilities Electrician for the Charlotte Celgard campus, it will be your mission to take ownership of a variety of electrical and facilities activities that support the overall operations of this location. This location encompasses approximately 5 buildings and 500,000 sq. ft., and you will be required to travel by car to and from the various sites (the buildings are situated within a mile and a half round trip radius). Quick question for you - click here

You will be responsible for the Installation, removal, or modification of the following:
  • Office and facility power, 110/240v.
  • Office, parking lot, and manufacturing lighting needs, 110/277v.
  • Office equipment, including phones, data lines, communication and projection system, etc.
This is a position with a tremendous amount of variety and exposure to different types of power, electrical and data systems. On any given day you could be working with voltage including 208, 277, 480—and then the next day your activities could be focused on facilities work such as moving furniture. You’ll also work closely with our HVAC team member on power problems with chillers or air handlers. 

You will also provide assistance as needed for the following:
  • HVAC mechanics power needs, 24/110/240/480v.
  • On site coverage during crisis situations, extended power failure, snow removal etc.
  • Weekly and monthly fire system inspections and documentation.
  • Installation of office wall hangings or movement of office furniture.
  • Code interpretation.
  • Setup and breakdown of seating, tables, podiums or tents for mass events.
  • Manage all other duties as assigned.
