The Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
  • An associate's degree in a related technical field or comparable, relevant military experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial environment performing instrumentation and electrical work.
  • A demonstrated ability to:
    • Understand and safely use a multi-meter.
    • Effectively diagnose, repair and / or replace electrical components.
    • Read and comprehend electrical schematics.

  • Fundamental computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email).

You also will need to be willing and able to work 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

The Role

Reporting to the Electrical / I&E Supervisor, you will join a team of 10 I&E Technicians. You will be responsible for performing instrumentation and electrical maintenance functions to support the new facility's equipment. Our equipment is rated at 480V or below, and the main processes include extrusion, lamination and conversion.

Your activities will be varied, but to give you a sampling of the position, a common task will be to support the disassembly and reassembly of extruders. We do this regularly to keep them clean. A lot of your work will support the application and precise control of heat.

More specifically, you will:
  • Diagnose, repair and/or replace electrical components. Quick question for you - click here
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of AC and DC electrical power systems, motor drives, control systems, as well as instruments used in the systems.
  • Use test equipment such as volt, Ohm, and current meters.
  • Disassemble, clean and reassemble production equipment.
  • Install and / or verify correct instrument installation.
  • Perform electrical calibrations and preventative maintenance.
  • Update electrical drawings and procedures when needed.
  • Write detailed reports.
  • Support new equipment installations with point-to-point verification prior to start up.

  • Blown film extrusion, process ovens or other process-controlled web handling equipment.
