Why Celgard
Strong growth -- Celgard and Polypore continue to grow: we expanded even during the recession, and Polypore's 2010 revenues were up 19% over 2009. In addition:
-
In 2009 we received a matching grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to support the development of the US EDV market. This funding is supporting construction of a new facility in Concord, NC as well as expansion at our Charlotte plant.
-
In 2008 we acquired a new technology along with production facilities in Korea, so we now have the broadest portfolio in our industry. In 2010 we began expanding the Korean facility to serve growth in the consumer-electronics market.
Career development opportunity -- Celgard dynamically stewards its resources, particularly our most important resource: our people. Because of our unique market niches and proprietary technologies, we prefer to promote from within whenever possible and constantly look for training and continuous education opportunities.
Impact the business -- Celgard is a medium-sized company, so while there are resources to help do your job, the size of the business also makes it easy to get things done quickly if you understand and work within the corporate structure.
A recognized green leader -- Celgard separators are widely used in diverse markets, helping people remain mobile while minimizing environmental impact. In recognition of our leadership, President Barak Obama chose Celgard's Charlotte headquarters to host a town hall meeting on April 2, 2010.
Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and bonus incentive program, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan and more.
Keys to Success
To excel in this role you will have the generalist background to be able to execute hands-on HR functions, coupled with the leadership experience to understand high-level business initiatives so that you can help the Plant Manager to meet strategic goals. You will work closely with other functional leaders to help guide day-to-day people management while helping the team to stay on the right track, identifying problems and finding appropriate HR solutions that will impact the overall direction of the plant.
