Role Summary/Purpose:

The Director of Sales & Operations Planning is based in the corporate office and reports to the President of Celgard. The individual demonstrates leadership by managing Celgard’s sales and operations planning function and executing on business and financial goals. This position manages the Sales and Operations Planning process across Celgard’s global footprint and has primary responsibility for optimizing our operational assets and minimizing inventory to support Celgard’s business.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures scheduling and planning strategy, practices and initiatives are aligned with the company’s business objectives and support the company’s growth strategy
Collaborates with Regional sales teams to develop revenue and volume budgets and monthly forecasts to support corporate financial goals
Responsible for developing Global Operational plans working closely with the HR, Finance and Operations teams to optimize Celgard’s manufacturing assets to include capacity management, staffing, inventory
Responsible for managing the Production Scheduling teams in our global manufacturing sites to service our customer’s demand while maximizing machine up-time.
Oversees inventory planning & management for Celgard to service our customers’ demand while minimizing inventory carrying costs.
Coordinates new product sampling process to provide new and existing product to our customers working closely with marketing to provide the right products to satisfy our customers’ needs
Builds an organizational culture that has a high sense of urgency, commitment to value-added services and a sense of accountability.
Leads and Manages the S & OP team that includes performance management, mentoring, training, coaching, and other development activities that are needed to achieve a high performance team.
Builds and maintains close and effective strategic working relationships across all functional areas to understand and achieve the business goals and objectives
Background and Qualifications:
BA/BS in business and an MBA or advance degree preferred
10+ years of Supply Chain management experience and at least five in leading and managing teams.
Strong proficiency in developing and implementing supply chain practices in customer service, planning and logistics.
Experience in a business to business environment
Strong Financial background
Experience in Operations research preferred
APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
Demonstrated
Demonstrated ability to retain and hire the best people
Ability to travel both domestic and international.
Six Sigma and/or similar continuous improvement process experience preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel and Word

Strong intellectual, strategic and analytical ability.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and includes presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with a collaborative style that builds strategic relationships
Self-starter with strong interpersonal and personal influencing skills.
