General Duties of the Job
- Create and maintain an environment at the plants in which all members:
- Participate fully in cross functional job responsibilities and personal development of all team members to ensure a strong and supportive team environment.
- Keep a focus on the needs of the plant by recognizing that acctg is an internal service function to support a successful business at a plant.
- Be aware of areas of value-add that acctg can provide the rest of the organization & then take action.
- Look outside of the acctg and finance function for other areas of plant efficiency & improvement.
- Participate fully in all aspects and needs of the plant.Acctg is not a stand-alone function at the plant.
- Act as a resource and as a coach as employees have technical issues
- Seek to cultivate a balanced department that strives for efficiency without sacrificing necessary accuracy
- Be responsible and oversee department goals and projects
- Be responsible for understanding the career & development goals for each employee & seek to meet those goals the best you can (mentor and teacher)
- Act as the financial arm to the marketing dept. in building a case to commercialize a development product
Oversee and maintain quality and accuracy for all accounting and financial functions:
- Basic accounting processes – Cash, AR, AP, PP&E, Accruals, General Ledger
- Cost accounting - DMCs
- Financial statement preparation
- Forecasting
- Budgeting
- Maintain commitment to compliance including internal audit, external audit, and SOX audit
- Lead major projects across the sites to build a high quality and forward looking accounting and finance function.Including, but not limited to:
- Consistent DMC approach and investigating new and better cost accounting techniques
- Management Financial Training
- Enhanced Business Intelligence
- Best practices and global consistency across division
Communications: Serve as a key point of communication of corporate information, plant performance, and provide input on key decisions as a member of management.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CMA, or MBA
- Minimum 7+ years (10+ preferred) accounting in a manufacturing environment with managerial experience
- Project management experience
- Financial reporting preparation
- Variable standard costing and absorption level accounting and manufacturing variance reporting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Determining proper internal controls.
- Microsoft Office Suite with Strong Excel Skills Required
- Microsoft AX Experience Preferred
- Must be willing to travel locally (Concord)
