Serve as Key Global HR Leader and Drive Alignment & Synergy

As Global HR Director, your mission will be to drive alignment across all functions in the business unit that you serve. The Requirements
To be a strong fit for this opportunity you will have:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and preferably in human resources, organizational development or business administration.
A minimum of 10 years of business experience with more than 5 years in HR leading direct and indirect HR teams and providing coaching in multiple disciplines to include employee relations, training and development, and talent acquisition.
International/multi-site HR experience and working knowledge of employment law.
- The ability to handle multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast - paced, results driven, changing environment - with minimal daily oversight. Working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project.
- Keen business judgment combined with the ability to provide fresh, proactive insight.
- Working knowledge of the manufacturing industry, where change management and culture modification is necessary for success in an increasingly competitive business climate.
- Interpersonal skills and savvy to play a key leadership role in establishing and driving a high?performance and high-expectation culture with strong employee involvement and engagement. Ability to consult, coach, support and advise leaders in the organization that are domestic and abroad.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strategic and tactical communications skills and instincts, with the strength and confidence to make and defend tough decisions within a matrix environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the key metrics related to HR and how to drive improvement in those key metrics.
Preferred qualifications:
PHR or SPHR certification.
Master’s degree in human resources, organizational development or business.

You also will need to be willing and able to travel, sometimes internationally, up to
15% of the time. Flexibility will also be required as international calls during mornings or evenings will occur and in support of employees in Japan, China and Korea.
The Role
Reporting in a matrix relationship to the Celgard President and Polypore Sr. VP of HR, you will serve as a key member of the Celgard business leadership team with responsibility for all aspects of human resources for manufacturing facilities and sales/service offices.
As a strong and proactive business partner to the business’s leaders, you will be tasked with identifying, developing and deploying business-driven HR strategies designed to attract, manage, develop, motivate and retain key people while creating a high-performance, sustainable organization capable of achieving business objectives, action plans and aggressive targets.
More specifically, you will:
- Demonstrate broad functional HR competence in areas such as talent acquisition, total rewards, employee relations, compliance and succession planning.
- Ensure that the performance management practices are integrated and that
- the processes are completed to raise the performance bar of the business.
- Work with colleagues in the other AK businesses on collaboration projects and in support of HR shared services to assure good customer-supplier alignment with business needs.
- Integrate company values and competencies into the selection, assessment and development of employees.
